Fall Festivals

Saturday night before Halloween a friend called and said their church was having their annual trunk or treat on Sunday afternoon.  We went last year and it was a lot of fun, so we thought we would go again.  The guys were working on the duck blind during the afternoon, but came after they were finished...unfortunately I was not good about taking photos and the only one I have is one of him in the kitchen before we left.  Aunt Kat bought Tucker scrubs the other day and I thought it was fitting for him to go as a doctor.  He was so cute and he really likes wearing them!  Here's the only photo from the night - kind of blurry because I couldn't get him to sit still.

This year Halloween fell on a Wednesday, so it was a perfect time to go to the fall festival at our church!  They had a ton of blow up jumpers, games, a petting zoo, horse back rides, and other fun activities for the kids.  Tucker dressed up as a cowboy like his daddy.  He was the cutest little cowboy!

Jonathan had a meeting for his mission trip, so he went on to that and met up with us later in the night.    Thankfully I had some help on hand - Mrs. Pam and Sarah came right at 5 when it started and my mom came a few minutes after that.  Who knew how much stuff there was to carry around and keep up with.  Sarah became my official photographer for the night - I'm SO thankful because honestly I probably would have forgotten to take pictures if not.  Also, I wish I had thought about bringing the stroller just to carry all the stuff we had and tried to carry all night - purses, candy bag, water, hat, shoes, etc.

So here are a few photos from the night.  We had a great time!  It got really crowded around 6:30 so we scooted out and had Chick-fil-a for dinner and then headed home.  It was a fun time had by all and I'm thankful Jonathan was able to be there as well...normally he is in class for school while we are at church so we rarely get the treat of having him with us on Wednesday night church.
My sweet cowboy!

Both my Cowboys!

Aunt Sarah and Tucker sliding - He LOVED this - went down it several times before it got too busy

I joined in on the fun as well

Tucker trying to convince Mimi to go with him back up to slide

Giving grammy a high five through the jumper!

He was squeezing me to death - love him!

Another jumper - he was scared of them at first but then loved them.

Fishing for candy!

We tried to let him ride the horse but he was not having it - I was a bit surprised to be honest, but there was a little boy behind him that was dressed as the hulk and I think it might have frightened him a little.

He LOVED riding in this.  It was driven by a lawn mower

We checked out the fire trucks that were there as well.

Daddy came after his meeting - that's all he wanted!

Little family photo
Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween as well!  We had a great time!

It's Another Boy!

We went to the doctor yesterday and found out we are having another boy!  We are so thrilled!  I can't imagine how much fun it's going to be with two little boys running around together.  I'm praying they will be the best of friends.  I have a feeling that hunting season will take on a whole new life when these boys are old enough to go with their daddy.  I'm excited to have two little men to raise.  I'm so thankful that the Lord has blessed us with another little man.

The ultrasound was so very different than it was when we would have them with Tucker.  He literally threw punches the whole time, and this little man was asleep, no matter how much I moved and we tried to wake him up - maybe he will be our laid back baby.  They said everything looked great, but because he was asleep and wouldn't cooperate with us, I'll have to go back and get another ultrasound next month so we can get full photos of his little heart.

Honestly, I kind of thought it might be a girl this time just because things have been so different with this pregnancy, but I think that has more to do with me being home and not working full time, as I was with Tucker, than the difference between a boy and girl.

Here's what we've been up to lately:

Heading back home from going to garage sales last weekend....Tucker was really wanting to talk to Jonathan, so we called him on the way home.
Talking to daddy on the phone.

When we went to the Chiropractor last week, there was a guy there making balloons and he made Tucker a fishing pole with a fish on the end.  He loved it!

Daddy bought Tucker this shirt - it says "It's hunting season,  Have you seen my daddy?"

Lunch with Aunt Kat last week

Aunt Katherine bought Tucker some scrubs.  She was so excited.  I think he is an adorable little "doctor"

This past weekend I went to the women's conference in Southaven, Mississippi so it was a daddy and Tucker weekend (Friday night and Saturday). The conference was great and I really enjoyed the worship and the wonderful ladies who spoke.  It was a great weekend and I'm so glad we were able to go.

Here's what they were up to while mamma was away:
Jonathan had arranged with a few of his buddies to shoot guns that afternoon (of course without my prior knowledge), and had Aunt Katherine come out and watch him while they were shooting.  Jonathan bought him the ear protectors on Friday so he would be prepared...apparently Tucker wore them the entire afternoon.
Tucker and Daddy
Jonathan brought a bike for him to play on and he had the best time wheeling himself around.

Here's the photo I received that morning before the conference started.  Tucker was jumping from the table to the couch.
We went to El Nepal that night for dinner and Tucker got in the wagon outside  before we left.

Happy Fall Y'all!

I'll be honest - I haven't really been up to blogging much this month, so I'm going to add what we have been up to in one big post!

I know the responsible thing to do here would be to take my child off the coffee table and ask him not to get back on it, but let's be honest, he was having a great time and I was sitting right there.  He brought the train from our downstairs room up three stairs and down the hallway, loaded it up on top of the coffee table BY HIMSELF and climbed on top.  What was I to do but grab my phone and take photos??

He then proceeded to get down, get his gun, and get back up on the train - yelling "pow" "pow" the whole time.

This is his "no no" face

He got this train as a present for Christmas this past year and forgot about it for the last few months, but it is a hit again around here.

Helping Papaw work Labor Day weekend

This was a few photos that Kat took of Tucker when we were at my grandmother's funeral.

Our first attempt at big boy undies, but they only lasted for the day.  I don't think he was ready and I know I wasn't.

I bought this gun at a garage sale for $0.50.  It was the best purchase.  I know he shouldn't have a gun, but he loves it and makes everything else into one, so I thought well why not.  As I've posted before, we have lessons on how to handle guns around here regularly.
Playing hard with Daddy while mom had a garage sale - he was exhausted....

Tucker LOVES to talk on the phone, which means he loves to listen to whoever is on the other line, but doesn't really speak too much - he was listening hard to what daddy had to say, and holding onto his ball for dear life!

Jonathan took Tucker to the cotton fields today to ride with one of the farmers around here and they had a blast.  He said he was throwing dirt and playing with all the cotton while they waited to ride.  His hair is almost as white as the cotton!

Proud daddy here - Tucker is "shooting" the duck

Last weekend we had a long weekend and we were all exhausted.  We all fell asleep at 7:30 and slept until the next morning...sweet boys!

Happy Fall Y'all!
