The second week of July (2014) we went to St. Louis just the four of us. This was the first family trip we have taken by ourselves since Tucker was born. On the way we decided to stop in Martin and show the boys where we lived until we moved home. I know this looks like a rough place, but I'll be honest, it was a HARD place to live, but I have some of the BEST memories ever from there! We had no air-conditioning, heat was a fire burning stove, and it was 100 year old farm house with several holes from outside in.
Heading on our way to St. Louis! We decided to go through Kyro so we could ride the ferry. We thought the guys would enjoy it. It was so fun! I had packed a lunch and it was just the right amount of time to eat lunch, run around a little, and get back on the road, all without really having to stop!
We couldn't go all the way to Martin and not stop at a few places. We stopped at the Bank I used to work with to say hello to everyone and then also at Final Flight.
Once we arrived, we settled into the hotel. We stayed at Homewood Suites right outside of St. Louis. The boys were SO excited. They actually provide dinner Monday through Thursday nights, so we ate Pizza in the Lobby Thursday night and then went swimming.
Friday morning we went to the City Museum and played all morning. We also went to the Arch, the Zoo, and back to the hotel to swim. The we all loved the science museum, it was a lot older than we had expected, but there were several things they could still do and enjoyed themselves so much.
Since we had already paid for parking for the day, we put the boys in the stroller and walked a little over a mile to the arch and the boys napped on the way.
We then went to the zoo. We loved the way it was laid out and had a great afternoon there.
After the zoo we went back and ate dinner at the hotel, and then we went to a local water park that had a showing of Finding Nemo on the big screen. We watched a little, but mainly just went to swim for a little while.
On Saturday we went to Grant's Farm first thing. After we went to the Science Museum. Playing bubbles before we left:
This little guy was so tired that we had to wake him up at 8:30 so we could get going for the day. He never sleeps that long!
We left Grants farm and let them nap for a little while in the car. We found a great parking space, so we decided to just eat in the car. Here's where Jace sat and ate in the front floorboard.
Tucker could handle his seat ok.
Inside the Science Museum.
Tucker found Tigie here and found in love. He had been given a little bit of money from the grandparents and he chose Tigie. They are the best of buds now.
After we left the Science Museum we went out to eat for dinner. Jace is SO SO SO tired that we went back to the hotel and let Jace go on to bed and Tucker and Jonathan went back to go swimming. They had a great time. Jace just couldn't hang anymore!!
We went to Lambert's on our way home Sunday. We played for about an hour until we got a table. It was Delicious!! We had a wonderful trip and I can't wait to do it again!
Napping for the final part of the trip :)
