Our Building progress - June 2016

So I have been talking about building, but haven't shown the house we are building! We found it online and actually searched for about 8 months before finalizing the house we wanted. We knew that we wanted large porches, enough bedrooms for each of the boys, an open concept, and separate closets in the master. We chose the Whitfield from architectural designs.

We made a few changes to make it ours, and we are so excited to watch the process! There was only one closet so we tweeted that, we added 18 inches in the master bedroom/eating area off the back of the house, a full bathroom in the garage, a large pantry for all the canning to be in one place (hallelujah!), shortened the garage from a 3 car to two car, eliminated a few windows,  If we are in by Christmas I will be thrilled!!

June 1st our slab was completely finished and ready to start with the framing! Lumber was also delivered and then the rain came and poured that night.

Framing started June 6th...

June 7th - The Golding's all came out to check out the progress :)

My two fearless men.

Checking out the plans.

Tucker decided it would be fun to shimmy up those boards on the side of the house but then realized he would have to get down....daddy to the rescue.

June 9th - They had completed framing downstairs and the boys are standing in their rooms - they were getting pretty excited!

June 13th - It's starting to look like a house! Mr Mike came out and helped Jonathan figure out where they are going to place our HVAC units and where it will all be piped. It's starting to feel real now!

Standing above the boy's rooms upstairs and deciding where to put the upstairs unit...

Jonathan decided it's the perfect spot to shoot deer from...Just kidding! He will be in a real deer stand...

View of the garage - this is where we will actually pull up to each time we come home.

Bones of the front coming along!

June 15th - They completely finished closing it in. We have walls around the outside of the house! What?? Seemed so fast!

My kitchen - it's L shaped and I'll have an island...

Bonus Room - won't be finished before we move in, but hopefully not too long after we can conquer this room.

Papaw let Tucker stand on roof outside his room. Makes me a nervous wreck.

Jonathan writing our scriptures we picked out around the house. - Great Father's Day project - June 19th!

Windows and a few doors have officially arrived and ready to be put in.

They started on the wrapping (for pre-brick) and put down felt for the roof June 20th

June 23rd - Start of the well being put in. They broke something on their truck while trying to dig, so they had to wait and finish the next day, but we saw them working on it. Boys loved watching them.

Saturday, June 25th, they completed the wrapping yesterday, windows and doors are in, and all the felt is on the roof, ready for shingles!

This is the bonus area upstairs, you can see Jonathan and Jace standing in Tucker's future room.

Checking out the view from the roof, of course.

Thursday, June 23rd: They put down protective flooring over our concrete (we are staining it at the end), and Tucker was running an extension cord for Jonathan to start laying flooring for the air conditioning units in the attic. We bought about 12 sheets of ply wood for the units/storage in the attic to go ahead and be placed before sheetrock so it was easier to get it all in.

Tired boy getting a break from cleaning up outside and cooling off - June 25th.

Monday, June 27th - we had a crew of men working this week to get in our units, and run all the duct work for our heat/air. Jonathan works for his dad and that is what they do for a living, so it only makes sense that we would do our own. My job has been to feed everyone. You can see it rained Monday, so my dad met me at the car and carried in the pizzas for me. Our crew has varied a bit each day, but it has been Jonathan, Mr. Mike, my dad, Jonathan's brother, David, Andrew Mathis, Tim Pearson has also helped this weekend, and of course Tucker and Jace :). They have worked TIRELESSLY all week - working a minimum of about 5-8 hours each night. I know they are all exhausted. So thankful for their commitment to get this duct work completed before baby Wyatt makes his appearance.

Tucker taking advantage of the fan while the guys are working. The plumbers are almost completely finished roughing everything in, and our tubs have been installed! The electrician has started running wires and hopefully they will be done by next week so we can pick out lights before Wyatt arrives!

We are going on a month and a half of progress (two weeks we were held up because of rain), and I feel like a whole lot of progress has been made! Excited to see when we actually make it in the house. They told us 3-4 months tops, that would be May 15th starting and September 15th moving in....I'm not holding my breath, but it's definitely chugging along!

May 2016

Besides building and growing a baby, here's what we've been up to for May...

Jonathan and I went on a much needed date the beginning of may and tried out Miccos Snow Cones in Germantown. It was yummy. I wouldn't say it's as good as Jerry's, but it's a close second!

We went to a birthday party for some friends little boy and while we were there Jonathan decided to fish their pond...he always comes prepared.

Had a little fire to cook smores in early May - it was a cold night so we took advantage of it. It was Mr. Mike's idea and it was so fun!

Visiting the chiropractor - boys were excited to meet Jonathan there after work. We normally don't go together.

Papaw offered to keep the boys one night we had church and they didn't have anything that night. They worked SO hard and helped him get all the mulch in the front flower beds. They were so proud of themselves.

A little Jerry's snow cone - notice the boots - that means we came directly from the land :)

Our first watermelon of the season - I LOVE LOVE LOVE watermelon, but since I've been in the third trimester, I can't LIVE without it. It seems to be the only thing that keeps my nausea away these days. It's been odd, but I'm pretty sure we are going through about 3 or more a week :/

Boys had to go with me to my doctor's appointment this month. I was a bit concerned because it was just me and them and I know that they get bored quickly, but I brought their iPad and kindle and they were great. I don't normally let them play them unless we need it, and it was a need it kind of day, but they were so good the entire time.

Killing time waiting on the doctor to come in the room...

A little picnic on the back porch. Love these boys!

Killing time together waiting on Tucker to get out of school. I have absolutely LOVED my Thursdays with this guy. We have had a date day every Thursday while Tucker has been in MDO. It's been a sweet time. They will both have 6 weeks of MDO this summer while I go to my doctor appointments because we are just so close to having him - I knew it would be hard to ask someone to watch them 6 weeks in a row!

My shopping buddy. He was COOL stuff having his own buggy.

A little fishing is a must in May...

We helped plant the Bellevue garden. It's huge!

A little loving from this guy while brother was in Frankfort with Gaga.

Fun playdate with sweet friends.

Baby Update

We are on the home stretch! I'm 34 weeks, due July 24th and we are all getting excited to meet baby brother. Tucker especially keeps telling me he is SOOO ready to meet him and when will he be here? Jace on the other hand just keeps telling me he is going to fight him when he arrives... this could be trouble. Jace is my laid back and easy going boy, so hopefully we aren't really in for it like it sounds!

We officially decided on a name - Wyatt James Golding. We have always loved the name Wyatt but never could come up with a middle name we both liked or even though sounded good with it, but we persevered and love James. I like the traditional names of the past and we loved James to go for his middle name. We debated a long time to go with a family name, and honestly, James is used on three sides of our family, but we would have gone with it either way.

We are still at the Golding's so I've obviously not got a nursery ready, but I do have a rock and play and also all his clothes are clean and ready to go! I've washed everything and trying to make sure I have everything we need and it's not in storage. It will be different not coming home to a nursery this go around, but I think we won't be too far behind before we get to do that so I'm not stressing about it - the third has to just go with the flow these days!  Won't be long before we get to meet precious Wyatt. We are all ready. Especially mommy - I'm getting to that point at the end of my pregnancy where I'm starting to get uncomfortable and I'm just ready! I've never been big pregnant during the summer and it's no joke. I have 42 days from due date today. Hopefully he will be here right on time or a little before :).
